SURGICAL PROCEDURES
BALDNESS AND HAIR TRANSPLANTS
Surgery for the correction of baldness currently achieves excellent results. The telltale “doll’s hair” is a thing of the past.
The procedure is performed using a local anesthetic and light sedation. The Pitanguy Clinic’s surgical center is equipped with the equipment needed to ensure the patient’s complete safety, under the constant supervision of an anesthesiologist.
Normally, the patient is released on the same day (i.e. the day clinic system); however, patients may spend the night at the clinic if they so choose.
Patients must wait one year in order to fully appreciate the final results of the transplant, and may, following this period, schedule a second phase in order to full eliminate any remaining balding areas.

M.D.In charge of surgeries relating to baldness and hair transpalnts at the Ivo Pitanguy Clinic, he graduated from the Federal University of Santa Maria Medical School (RS), Post graduated in Plastic Surgery from the Pontific Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (by Professor Ivo Pitanguy’s Practice) and is an assistant professor at the 38th Infirmary of Santa Casa de Misericórdia Hospital in Rio de Janeiro. He is a Member of the Brazilian Plastic Surgery Society and the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS). He is a Founding Member of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS) and of the Brazillian Association of Hair Restoration Surgery.
