IVO PITANGUY CLINIC

The Ivo Pitanguy Clinic, a medical science institution located in Rio de Janeiro , was founded in 1963 by Professor Ivo Pitanguy and has become a worldwide reference for offering the ideal care to Plastic Surgery patients.

Professor Ivo Pitanguy is in charge of the medical surgical staff, which consists of totally reliable and highly qualified plastic surgeons who are able to act either in group or individually, according to the patientīs preference (meet our staff).

The clinic consists of two harmoniously connected buildings. The offices are located in a house that dates from the beginning of the 19th century in classical style, where the patients are hosted by trilingual secretaries in a welcoming environment. The operating theater is located in the adjacent building and offers all the facilities and safety required by a modern surgical center: there are four fully-equipped operating rooms, designed for the total comfort of the patients, an intensive post-anesthetic recovery therapy room, six rooms for outpatient care with post-operative support and complete pre-operative checkups.

The Clinic has 14 individual suites, functionally and tastefully furnished, which provide the patients with privacy and comfort as well as their companions, under a watchful care of a team of specialized nurses and resident doctors.

Professor Ivo Pitanguy has always believed that, in addition to surgical procedure, the aesthetic treatments are also part of the process of achieving well-being, health and quality of life. This concept of integrated medicine gave rise to the Ivo Pitanguy Clinic Health and Beauty Center. Through a multidisciplinary team, the Center offers treatments and procedures geared towards the health and beauty of the body and face, either recommended separately or as a complement to facial or body surgery.

The Ivo Pitanguy Clinic is headed by Dr. Gisela Pitanguy. A physician and psychotherapist, she implemented patient support services with specialized psychological care for pre and port-operative patients. Dr. Gisela also created a line of cosmetics called PreVious, launched
in Brazil in 2000.
