THE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION

The Alumni Association of Professor Ivo Pitanguy (AExPI) was founded on January 21of 1974 as a non-profit civil and juridical organization. It serves to represent physicians who, although living in different cities or countries, have concluded their specialization course, or the training program, under the direction of Prof. Ivo Pitanguy.

The objectives of the Association are the following:

	To promote and encourage medical and scientific exchange, especially in the field of plastic (ie. aesthetic and reconstructive) surgery.
	To promote the union and the defense of the physicians who practice this medical specialty.
	To further the education and knowledge of techniques in plastic surgery, under the guidance of the Ivo Pitanguy Study Center (Centro de Estudos Ivo Pitanguy / CEIP).
	To contribute, from an ethical point of view, to all activities related to the practice of medicine, especially plastic surgery.
	To organize scientific meetings in any part of Brazil or overseas, wherever there are former pupils of Prof. Pitanguy, and to divulge surgical techniques and encourage the improvement, excellence and further education of its Members.
